Under the leadership of Pastor Daniel, Karis Community Church is dedicated to introducing people to Jesus and helping them follow Him. Pastor Daniel is deeply committed to preaching the biblical Gospel of Jesus Christ, the hope for the Nations, shepherding, providing leadership and vision for the church, and reaching our community with love and kindness. 

PD received his B.A. in Government from the College of William and Mary (Williamsburg, Virginia) and his M.Div from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (Deerfield, Illinois).

PD married up to Rachel, and they are blessed with two children – William and Chloe. He enjoys food, sports, music, playing guitar, reading, and connecting with the members of Karis and the surrounding community.

Ohyoung Kwon

Ohyoung is passionate about walking with God and His people while building an intimate community for every believer and neighbor. He is deeply committed to sharing the gospel and aiding others find healing in God’s family.

Ohyoung received his B.A. in Psychology from Rutgers University (New Brunswick, New Jersey). After his undergraduate studies, he pursued a career in counseling psychology and prevention science, attending Harvard University (Cambridge, MA) and Lehigh University (Bethlehem, PA). After 5 years in counseling studies and training, he began his pastoral journey, receiving his M.Div from Alliance Theological Seminary (Nyack, New York).

Ohyoung is currently single and follows New York sports teams that break his heart every year. 

Sunmin Lee
Children’s Pastor

Sunmin received her Bachelor’s in Elementary Education from DePaul University and her Master of Divinity from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary. She is dedicated to teaching and reaching children and youth in her community to find their passion and identity in God. Sunmin is married to Eric and she loves to hang out with her friends, eat good food, and watch football.

Rachel Yu

Rachel received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from North Park University.  God has shown her who He is and how much He loves His people and has called her to share His love to the little children. She loves seeing their faces light up when they worship together.
Rachel is married to Jonathan and has 3 daughters, Elyssa, Kylie, and Avery. They enjoy traveling, spending time with friends, and eating delicious food.
